What is the guest limit for the Diner Studio?
The Diner Studio allows a maximum of 4 guests at one time. Mini sessions are permitted with the appropriate add-on option selected at booking.
Why are there strict limits and rules for this space?
The furniture and décor in this studio are carefully curated vintage pieces—many of them rare, expensive, and irreplaceable. To preserve this unique set, we ask all photographers and clients to respect the space and follow all studio guidelines so we can continue offering one-of-a-kind décor.
Does the Diner Studio allow boudoir or nudity?
This space is designed to look like a true 1950s diner inside and out. Because it is ground level with no privacy, nude photography is strictly prohibited. However, modest pinup or tasteful boudoir is allowed.
Is there a bathroom or changing area available?
No. The Diner Studio does not have access to a bathroom or changing room, and it is located in a separate building from our main studios. Please ensure clients arrive dressed and ready for their session.
How do I access the Diner Studio?
Due to the nature of this space and the valuable vintage décor, the Diner Studio will remain locked when not in use. Photographers must text the owner (Alyson) upon arrival and departure so the studio can be unlocked and re-secured.
More detailed access instructions are included in your rental confirmation email.
What should my clients wear for sessions in the Diner Studio?
Clients are welcome to wear everyday clothing, but the real fun of this studio comes from embracing the 1950s vibe. Consider recommending:
- Greasers: jeans, white tees, leather jackets, slicked-back hair
- Sock-hop looks: poodle skirts, saddle shoes, scarves, vintage curls
- Retro accessories: cat-eye glasses, letterman sweaters, red lipstick, bandanas

Does this space have good natural light?
The Diner Studio has large west-facing café windows that can provide beautiful natural light; however, lighting can be tricky depending on the time of day.
Because this is a small space, large softboxes or strobes may take up too much room. With its white ceilings, we recommend bouncing a small flash off the ceiling for clean, flattering fill light.
